Northwood Telecare is a free daily telephone call of assurance for the elderly and/or handicapped people who live alone in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
It began in December 1984, operated by the Junior League of Halifax. In May 1996, Northwood took over the service and continues to operate the program with the help of volunteers who make the calls each day. For more information, please call (902) 421-6387.
